home.

ello dearies!

i don't know what prompted me to greet you all that way, but let's just go with it. ha.

I JUST GOT BACK FROM NEW YORK. it was cold, somewhat grey outside, rainy at times..and oh yeah, did i mention, PERFECT? Gosh. like, i can't tell you how happy i was to wake up and not have the sun shining in my face. that makes me sound like i'm some kind of unhappy scrooge or something, but it was just nice.

i had several shows that were all just so much fun. this trip was really life changing though. it gave me so much more confidence. i simply went to play music that means something to me, and i didn't hold anything back. it was all about the music. i was pretty nervous going into the shows, not about the actual shows themselves, but about the brutally honest- in time with real life songs that i had never played before. since i moved to nashville, i've just been writing writing writing. mainly for myself, as a way of staying sane. but it turns out that those emotions were actually beneficial in the end. ha. when i play songs that i'm so connected to, i completely forget what i'm doing. literally on several occasions i just remember starting the song, and then two seconds later i'm stomping out the last chorus. good thing i took video footage hah. otherwise, i probably wouldn't know much about any of the shows.

so for all of you who made it out to the shows, i thank you so much. it was so great to share the tunes with you guys and get feedback. and i got a lot of it, and i take it to heart!

on other exciting news: October 25th! time to record some of this brand spanking new music! i'm so jazzed. i've met some super cool people in nashville, and just decided "hey, since i actually live here now, and i've been writing a million songs ABOUT living here, why shouldn't i record some here?" hah. seems like a pretty simple and logical thought process, eh? i'll be sure to keep you updated :)

well, i guess i'll end this with some pictures for you guys.
arlene's grocery :)

googies- the living room. such a cool vibe (as you can tell)

the freaking bitter end. ahhhh! i love getting to play here!

okay guys, i'll try to post some video footage soon :)
je t'aime!
